Models needed YESTERDAY!!!
28 August 2002 by JoE

First off, thanks to Kevin Kmet from Afternoon Drive who has filled the position as PGS' touring drummer for our October tour. But, it'll be hard to tour for our new album if we don't even have our new album with us on tour. That's why we needed to finish up the artwork for it yesterday. We're running a bit behind. Here's the deal.

We need a couple of people (only 2, one guy and one girl) for the cover of our new album. The artwork done last week but of course we're just getting around to it now. So, we need this immediately. Please send us a picture of yourself, or you and your significant other since we're looking for a "couple" to JoE@pgsonline.net. We can't exactly tell you the idea, but we'd need to meet up with you sometime in the next day or two to get pictures of you for the album.

So, please send us your picture, we're looking for guys and girls if you are interested in being on the cover of the new PGS album. Warning: this album is going to be distributed nationwide. If interested, get a hold of us immediately. Thanks a lot.

"Dude Where's My Tour?" Tour 2002
22 August 2002 by JoE

We had such an amazing time on tour, that we can't wait to get back out on the road. That's why we've already started planning our next tour. The 2002 "Dude Where's My Tour?" Tour. We've planned out where we are going to be, and on what days. You can check those out up on the shows page, and if you know anybody who can help us get a show that day, or a place to crash, send us an e-mail to tour@pgsonline.net. And for our fans in VA, you'll have to help us start spreading the word down there cause we're coming back!

Also, we've started writing the full account of our tour on a page dedicated to the PGS / Starstruck "Meet Virginia" 2002 Tour. So, until we find someplace else to put the link up, click here to find out what happens when you combine PGS and Starstruck with over 2,000 miles on the road and 4 different shows in 2 states.

"Meet Virginia" Tour 2002
20 August 2002 by JoE

That's right, we're back from our first official tour. Maybe not the longest tour, but certainly not the shortest either, and DAMN! What an awesome time. I'm not quite sure how to throw this into perspective, but let me try. It's like somebody who wants to be a doctor. They know they're not going to be able to operate for at least the next 4 years until they've had enough training, but somebody already let them operate and save a life. That's kinda what tour feels like. We know this is what we want to do, and this was just enough to give us a taste of what it's like to actually be on tour, and now we can't wait to grab the scalpel and jump on in. And there's no way the tour would have been the same without Starstruck! Some of the best music and coolest guys we know. Thanks to them for everything.

And a huge thanks goes out to all our new fans in PA and VA. In case we didn't stress the fact enough already, we had a great time on tour and one of the things that made it awesome were our new fans! We hope to be coming back out that way in the next few months, so be sure to keep checking back over here in on us! And the Williamsburg Music Scene, you guys are all the coolest, bands and fans. Another thanks to the American Music Cafe, Bailout, Big Al from the Moaning Lisas, and Original Conspiracy! You guys will have to check the blog for all the tour happenings as Dixon and I will be trying to let you know everything that had happened.

Barn house rock!
12 August 2002 by JoE

But it has to be red to be considered a barn! How can Arabian Knights call themselves a farm and not even have a red barn. Barns are red! That's all there is to it. Oh, by the way, don't ever play here. It's kind of cool and stuff, but the owner is a complete prick. And unless you bring him in $1,000 dollars that night, you're not gonna see crap as far as money goes. Even if you do bring in over 220 people, you still probably won't see any money. Plus, as he puts it, "I have 10,000 other bands lining up to play here." Nothing like jerk owners to make you mad after a show. So, PGS is on an official boycott of Arabian Knights Farm.

This Thursday morning we leave for tour. Sure it's a short tour, but full nonetheless. Thursday night in Murrysville, PA (about 30 minutes out of Pittsburgh) / Friday night in Norfolk, OH / Saturday afternoon in Newport News, VA / Saturday night in Williamsburg, VA / and Sunday night in Akron, OH.

Let's ride bareback!
8 August 2002 by JoE

We know you guys are probably just as excited as we are about tomorrow night's show. Alright, maybe we're a little more excited. I mean, it's no Trojan Blast, but c'mon we haven't played on a farm in...well actually, in like two months, but that barn wasn't red, so it wasn't really a barn. And there weren't any horses to play with, not that we play with horses, but if some were around...we might, if we had the time and desire. What the hell am I even saying at this point? I lost myself. I know what I intended to say, but now it's just coming out as crap. The real point, Friday night, PGS at the barn with Horsecop, Carston, Swizzle Tree and Starstruck.

Summer is damn near over
5 August 2002 by JoE

Holy crap! It's August already. Is it just me or did this summer go by exceptionally fast? Why it seems like it was just last Thursday when we did a show with Slowride (Deep Elm Records), Wrecker, Starstruck and The Kiwis. Oh wait, it was! And it was awesome. Thanks to everybody who came out on such short notice for that one.

Also, I hope you're checking the webpage before coming out to the show tonight because the show for tonight has been CANCELLED. Not quite positive what's going on with it, but we're seeing about rescheduling it.

This Friday night, we "play with the horsey" at the Barn! Joining us in horse antics will be, of course, Horsecop to make sure things are getting out of hand, also Carston, Swizzle Tree and the ever sharing animal love of Starstruck. Hope to see you guys there for what's guaranteed to be an awesome show.

Be Mine Records presents...
29 July 2002 by JoE

If you liked what you saw last night at the Metro, make sure you come out to St. Beatrice this Thursday night for the Be Mine Records "Friends and Family" show. All the bands last night did an awesome job, and thanks to Off Balance and Starstruck for plugging PGS so much. Personally, it was my first time at the Metro. I know, I know, that's unheard of, but it's true, I had never been to the Metro before last night, and it was just an awesome show. Not to mention, for my first time being there and not even playing, it was cool to hear PGS mentioned a lot and to even see Matty from Starstruck sporting a PGS shirt! Rock on.

This Thursday is going to be awesome at St. Beatrice. If you're a little hesitant about going, don't be, just come on out and I guarantee you'll have a good time. Hope to see you guys then.

3 down, 1 to go
26 July 2002 by JoE

That's right, 3/4's of PGS are now 21. Today is my birthday, and I always thought 21 year olds were old. I don't feel that old, but I know I am. Of course, Dixon's been 21 for a while, and I still don't think he's that old. But who knows, maybe being 21 will help me play guitar better. Doubtful, but I can hope, and you can check and see. C'mon out on Thursday night to St. Beatrice and see if I can play any better. I bet I can, and if you plan to prove me wrong, you'll just have to show up. It's gonna be an awesome show anyway. Indoors, air-conditioned. The perfect place! See you guys then.

NEW Show, just added
24 July 2002 by JoE

You gotta love when these big shows pop-up in such a little amount of time. Thursday, August 1st, Deep Elm Records top-selling artist Slow Ride is coming to town. Well, after their show got cancelled, they turned to Be Mine Records for a little help. So, Thursday night is the Be Mine Friends & Family show at St. Beatrice in Schiller Park featuring, Slow Ride, Starstruck, Wrecked, The Kiwis, and PGS. Go now and check out Slow Ride (I liked the sample of "Computer" the best) and help spread the word. Later.

Trojan Blasted!
22 July 2002 by JoE

What an awesome show! All the bands rocked, check out The Trojan Blast website to find out about highlights from the show itself. Thanks to everybody who played and made it all such a great success. We had an awesome time and even met some new really cool people. A big thanks to Be Mine Records for being a huge helping force behind Trojan Blast and to all those fans who came out to make it such an awesome time. By far one of the coolest shows we have played in a long time. Check back later in the week as we throw up our new merch, and head over to the Be Mine Records website to pick up the limited edition "Trojan Blast E.P." from PGS in case you didn't pick it up at the show. It's limited to only 50 copies, and once they're gone, they're gone.

Tons of pictures are up so head over the pics section for that under our 2002 tour and Misc pics. Hopefully we'll see you guys out on August 9th. Later.

The Trojan Blast - on your clothes!
19 July 2002 by JoE

Yup, new PGS shirts this Saturday at the Trojan Blast. Not to mention a new CD. To find out exactly what's on the CD go the news page and look at the last update. Unfortunately we will not have stickers. Damn, stickerguy.com takes forever. So, like we said, be sure to swing the Be Mine Records booth to pick up the newest PGS stuff.

Be Mine Records? What's that? Here it is, the official announcement, PGS has teamed up with Be Mine Records to bring you some of the best local stuff around. Including an upcoming split star-shaped 7" record with PGS & Starstruck!

That's about all the news for now, we'll see everybody out at the Trojan Blast tomorrow. And if you're not going to this show, you've seriously gotta get your priorities straight.

The Trojan Blast - in your face!
16 July 2002 by JoE

That's right, the Trojan Blast is now closer than ever before, and we can't wait. Have you seen the Trojan Blast webpage? There is so much stuff going on it's unbelieveable! Will you actually be able to catch members of PGS in the Dunk Tank and hosting contests? Guess you'll just have to go and find out. And since you're going, we've got some great news for you.

Pick up your copy of PGS' "Trojan Blast EP", out on Be Mine Records, available only at the Trojan Blast. Features 11 PGS songs including demo versions of "Evrything Tonight" "Part of Me" and "Always the One". You can even own the sing-a-long version of that stupid hit "I Hate L.A.", a must have for any PGS fan.

There's more?

Much more! Hopefully new PGS stickers will be in by then, but who knows since we ordered them over a month ago, but for sure new PGS T-Shirts. Yup, you heard me right, new shirts. Not just more of the same shirt, but a whole new t-shirt all together.

Pick up all this stuff and more at the Be Mine Records booth at Trojan Blast located in the white tent right next to the LocalShibby.com table.

DAMN, Hot damn at that
8 July 2002 by JoE

What a week! Sorry about the lack of updates last week, just one hell of a week as i'm sure you will find out. First off, the biggest news was Dixon's dehydrated visit to the hospital. He's finally getting a better now, but check out exactly what happened under the blog, and shoot him an e-mail at Dixon@pgsonline.net, he could use the e-mail company.

In other news, nothing quite as severe as that, hope everybody had a good 4th of July and saw some sweet fireworks. If you went to the Taste of Lombard, you were probably disappointed with the fireworks display, I know I was. As for Fort Wayne, i'll try and keep it short. First off, no Dixon, big mistake. The show went over okay to the 7 people that actually saw us play, but we made some cool band connections while we were there. Hopefully we'll be hooking up with Djinn, the Hot Flashez, and Mulligan soon for shows either here, or in Michigan. That's about it for now, and we've finally thrown up some new pics, so go check those out from shows last month. More to come though, including a few from the Art Factory for Dixon to see.

Sorry, took a little while
1 July 2002 by JoE

Well, took a little longer than I thought to get the new songs into MP3 format, but finally, they're up. Brand spankin' new sounds from PGS. Thanks to Matt Allison for having the patience to deal with us and getting these recordings to sound good. And also thanks to Mike at Tribal Studios for helping us lay down our silly song EP. Could you really be expecting to pick up a copy of the silly song EP as soon as the Trojan Blast? Hmm, I think so. Then, this September, you can look for the PGS EP "Worth a 1,000 Words" in stores. Actually, you can look for it now, you just won't find it though. So, check out the new songs, and if you're not coming out to Indiana, then we'd better see you at the Trojan Blast. Plus, some pics from Grand Bowl and Clock Tower Park will be up later in the week.

Wrapping things up
25 June 2002 by JoE

Today we head back into the studio to finish up recording for our EP and mix it down. So you know what that means...brand new PGS song clips up in the next couple days, so be sure to check back. Especially all of our foreign fans who never get to see us in concert. If you've only heard our MP3's, you haven't heard anything yet.

As always, we're trying to work on new stuff, but also planning out everything for the upcoming EP. Come July we're also hoping to have a trailer, but we've gotta see how things are going money wise. So, help us out and head over to the order section and pick yourself up a PGS t-shirt. Next time this puppy is updated, new song clips! Later.

Rain or Shine, the show will go on
21 June 2002 by JoE

The forecast isn't looking too promising but, regardless, the show will go on. This is our only Clock Tower Park show this year, and we will play. Not to mention, it's CrazyF's last performance as the official PGS cow. So come on out and be sure to bring your raincoat just in case!

In other news, we went into the studio with Matt Allison yesterday, and things are coming out incredible. We'll have some songs from this session up soon, but come out tonight and pick up some free limited edition copies a two song promo from our last recording session.

Dixon's acting tryouts now up under the pics page.

CrazyF retires as the official PGS cow
18 June 2002 by JoE

After this Friday, a void will be left in the hearts of those in PGS, our immediate help, and all our fans as CrazyF retires his position as the official PGS cow. For those who don't know, CrazyF joined PGS in April of last year as the official PGS cow. Doing unusual antics on and off stage he quickly fit in with the rest of us in PGS. Pictured above in undated photos, he was last caught in action on April 13th at a house party in Bloomington/Normal, IL. CrazyF will remain with the band helping out when he can, but this Friday will officially be his last show as the Cow. We hope all can make it out to bid him farewell. You can e-mail him at CrazyF@pgsonline.net with any parting comments.

The idea of replacing him with a new cow had come to mind, but will not be acted upon. Nobody would ever be able to fill the position quite like he did. We hope you all make it out this Friday for what will be CrazyF's last cow performance.

Done with the studio, for now
17 June 2002 by JoE

Well, we've managed our way through one studio and pumped out some totally sweet songs. This Thursday we head downtown into Atlas Studios. These songs will hopefully be available mid-summer, give us a break, it takes some time. However, for your special listening enjoyment now, we have thrown up 2 songs on the webpage. One, is "Part of Me" and the other, "Always the One" is the brand-spankin' new PGS song. So, you can check these out. But, more importantly, we're going to have FREE, that's right, FREE two song promos available. This Wednesday we will be hosting (not performing in) an amazing show at Grand Bowl in Franklin Park featuring Starstruck, Spin, Fallen Star, No Cause, and 7th Grade Underdog. Since we are the hosts, we should probably be there for the show. Meaning, come on up to us at the show, and we will be able to give you freebie CD. Only thing is that you have to ask for it since this isn't our show.

If you'd rather pick one up at our show, we will have some available this Friday night when we bring it all back home to the Schiller Park Gazebo/Clock Tower Park in Schiller Park. Sure to be an awesome show, so come on out. The free CD will feature one extra song that is not available through the webpage. See, we're trying to get you guys to come out to this show! Later.

Griz-and Biz-ol
13 June 2002 by JoE

Oh man did we have a blast playing last night. It was just an all around good show and it looked like everybody enjoyed it. An awesome thanks to Eric from Backdrop for showing up and doing his thing, it was really cool. The Kiwis did an awesome job, but how could you expect them not to? And Off Balance really impressed us. They even came up to sing "Summer of '69." I'd highly suggest checking these guys out at Trojan Blast. Thanks again to Reggie for doing the lights last night and Shannon for taking pictures. Our friends show us so much support, thanks to all of them. Pics should be up in the next couple days.

And the big deal for right now is going to be the PG-PGS show. That's right! Next Friday we're bringing it back home to the Schiller Park Clock Tower park. Since the Village hired us on, it is going to be a family show, so bring out Ma, Pa, Bro and Sis. Just keep your sis away from Dixon, if you know what I mean. Bring your cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, grandparents. This show is going to be for everybody! To add the entertainment, Starstruck will also be playing. So start spreading the word about it, I mean c'mon, it's free after all.

Farms and Fans
10 June 2002 by JoE

We're just gonna skip right over the Friday night show and leave that one buried in the past. Except for thanking Jobules for coming up and playing 'Away' with us. He did an awesome job. And the party Saturday night was a blast. Fun was had by all. Live pics are up now, but check back later in the week to find out the rest of what went on when you combine Shooting Blanks, Kil Cupid, PGS, a farm, water, a pinata, loud music, and beer.

Currently we're in the studio looking to push out a few songs for everybody for the summer. However, I can't stress enough the importance of coming out to the Grand Bowl show this Wednesday night for what is sure to be an awesome concert. Backdrop, Shooting Blanks, Off Balance, PGS and the Kiwis? C'mon, this is gonna be awesome local fun for everybody.

A Brown Cow Weekend!
6 June 2002 by JoE

That's right, both shows this weekend are going to feature some heavy CrazyF action. He took a month off with school and work, but we're trying to get him back in the swing of things now so make sure you come out Friday and Saturday night to witness this amazing man for yourself. And that's really it. We've got the show Friday night and Saturday night, and Sunday into the studio.

And don't forget next Wednesday kicks off the Grand Bowl shows. Later.

Busy, Busy, Busy
4 June 2002 by JoE

Busy weekend coming up for PGS to start off a busy month. This weekend, we've got two shows. On friday night, we venture back to the Franklin Park Gazebo, the site of some amazing shows last year. It's free so we're hoping everybody can make it out. Then on Saturday we head back out to Marengo for a party. For some reason, people in Marengo have taken quite the liking to PGS and one such fan is addicted to local music so we're playing her party with a handful of other bands. It's free, so shoot us an e-mail if you wanna come out! Then, Sunday we're heading into a studio to lay down some songs. Exactly which songs, you'll just have to wait.

Next week kicks off the Grand Bowl scene with show going on the last three Wednesdays in June. Nobody ever has anything to do on a Wednesday night, so come on out and rock with some of the coolest local and not so local bands around! That's about it for now, talk to you later.
