| New look - again! | 26 December 2001 |
|
Kind of decided to give the webpage a new look for the new year! It's not 2002 yet, but I think everyone will agree that those Christmas decorations needed to go. By 2002 (a few days) all pictures should finally be up on the site, speaking of which we even changed the picture viewer to make it a little easier. So, go ahead, snoop around! Plus, order your tickets online for the Afternight Soundstage TV Studio show! See everybody there! |

| It's the Klug Party Weekend | 21 December 2001 by JoE |

Today is Klug's birthday! Can you believe the guy didn't even take off work? So, in honor of his birth, it's the Klug Party Weekend! All weekend long through Christmas, the PGS site is being dedicated to none other than PGS' awesome stud for a bassist Klug. Click on either to send him a birthday e-mail or e-card. PGS wishes everybody an awesome Christmas! |

| 2001 Shows Draw to a Close | 17 December 2001 by JoE |
|
This weekend closed up PGS shows for 2001. Right now we're planning shows for 2002, and we will definitely have some suprises for our fans. One of the biggest being some of the awesome bands we are going to team up with to start dominating the local scene. Shooting Blanks - one of the absolute most hilarious stage performances any of us have ever seen with really cool music, not to mention they have the coolest T-shirts (go to their webpage and check out what i'm talking about). PARR-5 - an awesome group of guys with awesome music, we look forward to doing more shows with them. Rocky Denis - great live show with one of the coolest styles of music (if you like Saves the Day, you'll love these guys). Pictures from this weekend up soon. January 11, 2002 we rock Afternight Studios with a great line-up. See you there. |
|
| A Mammogram for Klug | 13 December 2001 by JoE |
|
Klug is fine, don't worry; so what's there to know except that there are two awesome shows this weekend! Saturday night at the Rockhouse (21 & over) with Parr-5, Shooting Blanks, Morningside Drive, Close Enough and Backdrop. Then, the very next night at Back to the Office with Rocky Denis and Sideline (formerly Safe Haven). Go here for all the info. See you this weekend! |
|
| A New Look - Kinda | 10 December 2001 by JoE |
|
Well, as you may have noticed, this page looks a little different. We decided to move somethings around so everything doesn't look so cluttered. Plus, we've even decided to add a new little portion to the PGS website. Down at the bottom of the home-page from now on, you will find a little portion labeled Feature of the Week. Every week we're gonna put something there whether it be a link, a stupid picture, or even some ridiculous story. Our first feature actually comes to us from CrazyF who is recovering quite well from his surgery (if you don't know about this, check the news page and send him an e-mail), so check it out. If you've got something you think is pretty cool, let us know by sending an e-mail to fotw@pgsonline.net. SHOWS COMING UP! This weekend is going to be awesome. Two nights, two shows, 8 different incredible bands. Not to mention an awesome show set up for January 11, 2002 at Afternight with Shooting Blanks, Going Lefty, Sideline, and 1 more band TBA. Order you tickets today online. Later. |

| 2002 Bookings Underway | 3 December 2001 by JoE |
|
The Rockhouse hosts one of the coolest concert line-ups of the year on December 15, 2001 with nothing but awesome bands. However, 2002 is a new year and that means newer, cooler shows! The first scheduled PGS show for 2002 is taking place at the new Afternight Soundstage TV Studios with 4 other bands. Only downfall, is that for such a cool show, ticket prices are kind of nuts, but justified by the venue. We've tried to make it a little easier for everybody with online ordering. Or if you happen to see any of us ever, we'll carry some with us to sell. There are a limited number of tickets, so order today. The very next week is a fundraiser concert at St. Beatrice School that is still in the works, we'll keep you informed. And don't forget about Back to the Office on December 16, 2001. We've updated directions for each place also. See you soon! |
|
| New Show - Dec 15 | 30 November 2001 by JoE |
|
The January 6th show at Riley's Rockhouse has been cancelled due to booking conflicts. But, on the brighter side, the band Shooting Blanks has hooked us up with a show for December 15 at the Rockhouse in Rolling Meadows. Downside...it is a 21 & over show. But, the very next day is our all ages show at Back to the Office in Hoffman Estates. So, make it out to either one of those if you can. CrazyF update! After a second doctor analysis, he has partially torn his ACL and MCL in his left leg. Which definitely means 6-8 months of non-cow activity. He's going in for surgery early next week, and said he really appreciates the e-mails he has gotten from everybody. So, if you haven't sent him one yet, just click here. And, "No," we are not looking for temporary Cow replacements, there can be only one. That's it for now. |
|
| It's Christmas Time!!! | 26 November 2001 by JoE |
|
Alright, so, the band is probably gonna kick my ass (my pet donkey that I don't have) for this one since none of them know about it, but I decided to do a little Christmas decorating! Enjoy before they make me take it down. As far as PGS news, the move is complete. From one practice spot to another, we've found a new home for the Winter! We've also managed to pick up another show at Riley's Rockhouse in Aurora for January. Not to mention, that the show at Back to the Office has been finalized and includes awesome local bands Safe Haven and Rocky Denis, so come check that out. We've also updated the directions for Back to the Office to make the place a little easier to find. BAD NEWS!!! CrazyF done messed himself up. He somehow severely sprained, or tore his ACL in his left leg at Wrestling. Doctors estimate 6 - 8 months! He's on crutches now, click here to send him an e-mail. *Nov 27 - a few pics up from Triton Radio Show Performance! |
|
| What the hell is going on? | 20 November 2001 by JoE |
|
Things have been a little hectic recently due to a change of practice location. We actually have to migrate north for the winter! We're in the process of moving out of current residence and into a previous one. Also, we continue to get in Street Team apps everyday so we want to thank everybody who is taking this opportunity to help us out. Street Team members are currently being contacted via e-mail, so if you haven't been contacted yet, please be patient. We're also going to launch our online ordering today! It's still in the works, so let us know if you see anything that should or should not be included by contacting the webmaster. A couple pictures are still not up, but should be soon. Not to mention we're working on getting some new PGS merch. Hope to see everybody out at the December 16th show. We miss not doing shows already and can't wait to get back on stage. Plus, we're always looking for places to play, so if you know any send an e-mail to bookings. See you in Hoffman Estates. |
|
| Webpage Sections Updated | 13 November 2001 by JoE |
|
Even though it is constantly being updated, we've recently added a new section to our links page. We have so many cool fans who put links up to our site from their personal webpages, that we decided to return the favor. Not to mention a vast section of band resources for any other bands around here. More news about the street team later this week, and online ordering up soon! *14 Nov - A few new Pics added from the last few shows. |
|
| Update for November | 9 November 2001 by JoE |
|
Since we've got some time off this month, we're combining our efforts to try and reach more people. One of these ways is the addition of the Street Team headed by Jim. Also, we're working on getting some new PGS merch such as buttons, T-shirts, and hopefully start getting a video together. We're also going to add a merch section to the webpage so you can order online. In the meantime, we started updating the bios section which included the addition of bio pictures for each of us finally, and even some new bios, more on their way. Plus, keep your ears and eyes open for what could be a PGS radio performance. More details to come on that later. Take it easy. |

| Shibby! Success | 5 November 2001 by Klug |
|
Shibby! was truly the best thing out of Schiller Park since the twinkie. We would like to thank all the bands for playing. Semisomatic did great for their first show. Domestic Play was awesome with thier new addition, PGS fan Joe Bolz. Going Lefty never lets us down, and Safe Haven really rocked the fuckin house. Also, all of the fans never disappoint us. Over 220 people showed up! We'd also like to thank the bands, and everyone else, who moved equipment, tables, the stage, etc... We couldn't have done it without you. You should check out the NEW STREET TEAM page. Where you could become part of PGS by helping us promote shows, etc. And last but not least, our next show is December 16, 2001 at Back to the Office in Hoffman Estates. More info on the shows page. |

| Downers Grove, IL | 29 October 2001 by JoE |
|
Well, it looks like we're picking up a few new fans each new place we play! Everybody out at the Downers Grove show definitely made us feel welcome and very much like rockstars. Hopefully some of our new fans can even travel out to Schiller Park this weekend for the biggest event in the town since they created the twinky! Tickets will be available at the door, or you can mail order them. However, the place does have a maximum capacity, so if we start coming close to it only people with tickets will be allowed in, and you definitely do not want to miss this show. 5 ban ds for 5 bucks, kinda like Arby's, minus that whole roast beef thing though. This Saturday is the concert of the year. Plus, we're going to start compiling PGS concert footage for a possible video release. Let us know if you'd be interested in a PGS video. Either way, you want to be at Shibby! this Saturday. See you there. |
|
| Day of the Dead | 24 October 2001 by JoE |
| This Saturday, the Moose Lodge
hosts "Day of the Dead," an all day band extravaganza. PGS even
has our own spot to show everybody what we can do! If you guys can make
it out, great, if you can't, then you are REQUIRED to be at Shibby! next
Saturday. As always, you can find this info on the shows
page.
We have also changed the look of the music page a little bit and threw up and oldie on there. Not to mention, we have finally given our cameraman Shaun his own e-mail address. So, send him an e-mail to make sure he gets you on tape at our next show. Other reminders: mail order your tickets for Shibby! today and check out the answers from the Triton Free CD Contest. |
|
| Triton CD Release Show | 22 October 2001 by JoE |

We're kind of sorry Peter wasn't there though since he won the Free CD Contest, but there is always next time. Thanks to all our friends who came out and helped and also to Triton for putting on the show. Pictures will be up later this week. Plus, we hope you guys liked the new songs. In case you forgot what they sounded like, you can check them out again this Saturday in Downers Grove for the "Day of the Dead" Halloween show. Details on the shows page! | BIG Show Friday Night! | 18 October 2001 by JoE |
|
Not quite sure about everybody else, but we're pumped for the Triton Show tomorrow night! If you're only gonna catch one PGS show this year, this is the one to see. It's PGS' Official CD Release show to unvail our first full-length album "in an Uncomfortable Place" Now, it's not quite in the guidelines of a CD release show, but we've also got a suprise for our fans. Two incredible new songs. Technically three, but the third song is all in the true spirit of "I Hate L.A." featuring CrazyF on lead vocals! Also, we've extended the PGS Free CD Contest until 5pm Friday October 19. We'll see you tomorrow night at Triton for an awesome show! |
|
That's right, we've come up with something
we'll hope you like. Do you know your movies? If so, then definitely
enter the Free PGS CD Contest! Just
click on the link and follow the simple directions to get yourself a
free full-length (PGS' "in an Uncomfortable Place") CD. Here's
the catch! You have to go to the show to get your CD. If you get the
most right, your name will be announced and you'll be brought on stage
to claim your prize. We'll see you at Triton, and Good Luck!

| A Weekend Off | 8 October 2001 by JoE |
|
PGS used this weekend to prepare for the our upcoming shows and actually take a little time for ourselves. Needless to say, we are all pumped for the Triton show on the 19th. Anybody else? This is definitely one of the shows you don't want to miss, it's our CD release show! Not to mention 2 brand new songs we wrote that you should love. So, spread the word...write your friends, tell your neighbors, and bring your mom. We'll see you there. |
|
| There was a damn show Saturday! | 1 October 2001 by JoE |
|
After much confusion, e-mails, phone conversations, and faxes, PGS got on the bill for the show Saturday night at the Marengo Nature Center. As it turns out, we weren't the only ones who were cancelled. Thanks to all our fans who made the trip well worth it, and all our friends who continue to help and support us. Next show, we're bringing it back home to Triton College for rescheduled CD release show! We'll see you there! Pictures from the show, along with a few old ones are up on the Pics page. |
|
| Is there a damn show Saturday? | 28 September 2001 by JoE |
|
To tell you the truth, we don't even know. Last word we heard is that the kid over-booked the show and because he already agreed to the shows with the other bands for like 2 months, (us only 1 month) we're the ones who get booted. So, as of now, we're gonna say that the show is cancelled, but check the message board tomorrow (Saturday) to make sure. We're really sorry about all this but it was completely out of our hands. Supposedly, he's going to set us up with a show in October at Warp again, so sign up on the mailing list below to make sure you know when that show is. Thanks again, and we really do apololgize. |
|
Just want to make sure everyone knows this
little bit of information. Before a show, any show, be sure to check the
webpage and message board before you leave to find out if the show has
been cancelled or not. If it has been, there will be a message from someone
in PGS stating the show is cancelled, if not, then the show is still on
so get your butt out to it.
As of right now, things are very much in
the air concerning the show this Saturday night in Marengo. We know many
of you have told us you're going, but it appears as though the agent has
over-booked the show. PGS is still talking with him trying to work something
out so that we do play this Saturday because just as much as you guys
want to see us, we want to play. We will let you know more once we get
more info. Thanks.
Thanks to all our new fans out in the Woodstock
area who made our show this weekend well worth the trip. To tell everybody
the truth, we were a bit scared about going into a completely new area
where nobody there has ever heard of us. But, damn, the crowd was absolutely
amazing! I even got to mosh during one of our covers with the crowd! All
of PGS is pumped for the show this Saturday at the Marengo Park District/Nature
Center in Marengo. We're hoping everybody who came out to Warp, comes
back out this Saturday. We have a lot more in store for you!
We've also got to take the time to thank
those few fans who did drive all the way out there to see us play, and
the other bands for giving us a warm kind of welcome, hope to do more
shows with you guys soon. And to all our friends who helped us move all
our crap up and down that huge flight of stairs, we thank you. Now, pull
directions off the computer for Marengo, you don't want to miss this show.
The CD release show may have been cancelled,
but it didn't stop the CD release. PGS now has its first full length album
out and available to buy at any of our upcoming
shows. For those who don't know, it's called, "in an Uncomfortable
Place" and features 11 of our songs including "Not the Jealous
Type" "Away" and "Evrything Tonight." My suggestion,
get out to a show as soon as you can to buy this CD.
We'd also like to thank those few enthusiastic
people who showed up to the CD release show not knowing it was cancelled.
I hope the acoustic set was worth the trip! PGS plays Warp Skate Park
this Saturday, we'll see you there, hopefully even some new fans!
Just received word 10 minutes ago that the
show for tonight is cancelled. We had a feeling something like this shouldn't
be going on so we called last night to double check and try to cancel
it; but, they said it would still be going through. Now, the VP of the
college just said (3 hours before show time), that it would be cancelled.
Plus, all the electricians who would set up the power and lights had left
for the day. So, we asked if we could still play and that we would bring
everything but they said, No. We sincerely apologize for this, even though
it really isn't the right time for a concert anyway. But, we'll still
be out there for a while tonight since we couldn't get a hold of everybody
to inform them it's cancelled. And we'll still have CDs, stickers, and
posters if you want to stop up. We might even do an acoustic jam for everybody.
Thanks again, and we really apologize for this.
I would like to thank Domestic Play and
Going Lefty for booking this unbelievable show. You guys know how to rock
the house. So many people, and so much cheering. We've never seen anything
like it. Anyway... our next show is this Friday and we are gonna have
some cool shit for everyone. There'll be PGS posters, stickers and our
very first full length CD, "in an Uncomfortable Place." So make sure you
all go and make it the phattest CD release ever!!!
NEW: Contact page added!
Both shows this weekend are going to be
held outdoors in Franklin Park. Friday night, the show starts at 5:30pm
with Safe Haven opening, and on Saturday at the same time with Going Lefty
opening. If and when the weather looks crappy, the show is going to be
moved to the Franklin Park Gazebo located next to the police station off
of the corner of Belmont and 25th. For those of you who don't know the area,
you can get directions here.
Hope to see you out there.
PGS has exploded with new shows. Most of
the information can be found on the shows
page, but we're still getting details on most of them. You know, going
through crossing the T's and dotting the....lower case J's. ANOTHER SHOW JUST ADDED for September! With such short notice, we are hoping to
see a lot of people out this Friday and Saturday for our shows in Franklin
Park with Domestic
Play and Going Lefty.
Ahhh, the Triton Show! What an opportunity
for PGS, playing with two big local bands. Aside from that issue, it is
PGS' first ever CD Release show. PGS' first album, "in an Uncomfortable
Place" comes out Friday, September 14 and will be on sale at our
show that night. Actually, that will pretty much be the only place
you can buy the CD. To accompany our first CD release, we'll even have
a couple other items available. As to what...well, you'll just have to
come out and see. Other news adds on to PGS' September. Possible
3 additional shows coming up. One in Franklin Park, IL one in Woodstock,
IL and one in Marengo, IL. Those are all still in the works though, so
don't mark it in pen. Just make sure you come on out to Triton! See you
there.

| How Cool Are Our Fans? | 27 August 2001 by JoE |
|
For those who weren't in attendance, mid-set on last Friday the rain began to come down in buckets. Now, this usually wouldn't be a problem except that the concert was outside. Who would have ever thought the fans would stay, and above that request more songs. All of PGS wants to thank everybody who came out to the show. Not to mention, our incredible help who aided in keeping everything dry and getting it packed up, thank you. Now, for the sneak peak news! We have recently received word, that the September 14th show at Triton College does come with an added bonus. Triton College is paying production costs to have shirts made up for the special occasion. The shirts will feature the logos of the two other bands, and PGS! So make sure you get there early to pick up your shirt. Plus, it's our CD release, you get to buy the very first PGS cd featuring, "Away," and "Not the Jealous Type." See you there! |
|
As many of you may have noticed, the weekend
came to an end this Monday. 3 PGS members actually decided to take a
trip last weekend (the other was restricted by his work schedule) and
visited the Cheeseful lands of Wisconsin, the Dells! A good time was
had by all who attented, except for one night. While James Klug lie
awake in bed flipping through the channels, he put his feet under the
covers. While sliding them down he felt something a bit bumpy under
the sheets and decided to investigate. There, under a thin layer of
cotton in the bed he slept, Klug found a human tooth. One of the grossest
hotel stories i've ever heard, or in this case, witnessed. On more of a band note, we've been using
our butts, brains and hands working on some new songs. Hopefully by
this Friday we'll be able to give everyone a listen to at least one
of them. Don't forget about the show on the 24th, we'll see you there!

August 2001 by JoE
Welcome, here it is. PGS'
newest home on the web, www.pgsonline.net! Here you'll find everything
the old site offered, plus, a little bit more; not to mention, everything
you need to know to keep you up to date on PGS. Hopefully you feel like
a kid in a candy store right now and you just can't wait to see what the
rest of the site has to offer. Feel free to puruse through every portion
of the site and even sign the message board. You can also listen to a
few of our songs off of our upcoming album, "in an Uncomfortable
Place." Yet, some portions of the site are not yet completed, but
will be in the next month, I apologize for that in advance. And be sure
to check out the shows page to see PGS in concert at Clock Tower Park
this month and Triton College in mid-September. Thanks for coming to the
site and be sure to add it to your favorites!
| Maybe the Dingo Ate Your Baby! | 2 August 2001 by JoE |
| Webpage construction is almost complete. Right now we're still waiting to get a pics page up, but the site should launch by this weekend. But obviously if you're reading this the site already launched. Regardless, i'm trying to get in the habit of updating the news. So, right now, in the actual PGS music scene we're working on having out some new songs by the show on the 24th of this month. Also, we're still trying to get the CD worked on and out by the 24th, but right now it doesn't look like it. So, in that case, we're probably gonna set the September 14th show at Triton as our CD release show which means we're gonna need everybody out there. Take it easy, and I hope you like the new page. | |
| House Party! | 30 July 2001 by JoE |
| Last Friday we played a house party in Melrose Park with another local band called Better Off Dead. It all went kind of okay, I guess. Yet, we did pick up a couple new fans. You see, there weren't many girls at the party, and a couple of fans were really looking to score. So, we gave them Love Gloves! They walked around the rest of the night wearing their signed Love Gloves, and we can't help but wonder what they think they did the night before that they woke up Saturday morning wearing a glove signed by a bunch of people. | |
| Still trying! | 25 July 2001 by JoE |
| The web-page building process is still underway as little by little more and more things start to make sense. Although, for a little bit of hardcore PGS news, we're currently looking at a couple shows that could become finalized in the next couple weeks. The biggest one is going to be at Triton College on Friday, September 14, 2001 with Close Enough and Penny and the Loafers. Unlike many of our Triton College shows, this one is actually going to be a night show. Also, a possible 21 & over show at a bar in Hanover Park, and an all ages show at Back to the Office in Hoffman Estates on Sunday Night, September 30, 2001. Just kind of overloaded right now with all that, a new webpage, and still trying to get the CDs out by next month. Nobody said it was easy. | |
| This news is good news! | 23 July 2001 by JoE |
| So far, testing for the new page is still underway as i'm trying to navigate my way through Photoshop and Dreamworks. Not like anybody really cares since all you really want is the new webpage up, but gimmie a break, i'm trying! It should be up by next month though. | |
