In PGS news there ain't shit happening. We have the weekend off for some R&R. Then its back to a normally busy weekend. June 7 & 8 we have shows and the 9th will be spent in the studio laying down tracks for a possible silly song E.P. Also, we will be in Atlas Studios in late June, working on a new E.P. Make sure to check out Dixon's Nature Center adventure in the pics section. More pictures coming soon and be sure to come out to PGS' most expensive show yet. It's an AIDS benefit show at the Goose Island Brewery downtown. All of this for the low, low price of $50 a plate. Be sure to check the shows page cuz we're constantly adding more. *30 May 2002 - Nature Center Pics now up! |

Some news...it's
only been a week
|
28 May 2002 by JoE |

Well, we lost the battle of the bands last Tuesday night! That sucks, but there's always gotta be some band that loses, and in this case it was us. Although, we did gather in some new fans which is always a plus. There's a weird picture of me with the two of them up above. But, over the weekend we played out in Marengo thanks to Rob from Spin and it was a really cool show! Not to mention everybody who bought their very own totally sweet PGS T-shirt, thanks. We really had a good time and love that Marengo crowd. I know the other bands had a good time too and it was awesome playing with everybody. Wait that came out wrong. Anyway, hopefully we can get out there again soon. Pics should be up in the next couple days from that one. Also, shows explosion. More PGS shows coming up over the summer including a trip out Virginia Beach in mid-August with some of our close band mates for a Chicago vs. Virginia show. Check the shows page for all the info, not to mention shows popping up everywhere this summer, so get your butt out to one! Take it easy. *29 May 2002 - Dixon's Nature Center Adventure added to Pics. |

What PGS has in
store for YOU |
20 May 2002 by JoE |
|
Today is the Canadian "Victoria Day" whatever the hell that means. Anyway, big show tomorrow night at 602 North in Glendale Heights. Bad part being it's 21 & Over, but if you are over 21, then the good part is $2 drinks! That's right, come drink your little heart out and hear PGS sound like real rockstars after about 14 or 15 drinks. We'll need you guys out at this one because it's a Battle of the Bands, and so far we have won 100% of the battle of the bands we have been in. Sure, we've only been in one other battle, but that's besides the point. We're moving our butt on stickers, I swear, we should have them soon; also, we're working on more new stuff. A couple new shows are up, not to mention we've added a second free show in June. That's right, all the free PGS you can handle! And at the request of some disgruntled PGS fans, pics from the Elk Grove Teen Center show have finally been put up. I'd hope by now, at this point in your life, you can figure what section of the webpage to go to if you want to see PGS pics. If not, please remove yourself from the webpage immediately and only attend shows from now on. Later.

Update |
15 May 2002 by Klug |
|
Hey all you kiddies in PGSland. Here's what's happening. We are a bunch of lazy a-holes, so we are still in the process of ordering stickers, also we may have a show in Virginia sometime in August. In late June we should be recording, and if you are over 21 or have a good fake id (note: PGS does not acnowledge this, and therefore cannot be held legally responsible if you get busted), come on out to the battle of the bands on Tuesday, May 21. Don't forget to buy our t-shirts, we need money to support our porn fetishes. So yeah...

What's
Happening |
13 May 2002 by JoE |
|
Teen Center show was pretty cool, thanks to Kil' Cupid for setting that up, and to Reggie for providing the lighting extravaganza with the live feed video screen. The guy's a madman. Pictures from that show should be up later in the week. Also, THE biggest show of the summer has been officially added. July 20th at Triton College in River Grove. 16 of the best local bands over the course of 12 hours. K2 half-pipe, Pepsi sponosored, and tons of stupid contests and giveaways. Plus, mini-tour in the works for Mid-August, we'll let you know about that though. Hopefully some stickers coming this way soon, and also, I know this sounds ridiculous, but we're gonna start using our Street Team. I know, I know that's just unheard of, but we're gonna do it. We've got this weekend off so we're gonna try and work on some new material and that's about it. 21 & Over show next Tuesday, then we're back in Marengo on the 25th! Later.

FAQ Section now
up! |
8 May 2002 by JoE |
|
That's right, the PGS FAQ section is now up. If you have any questions about the FAQ, read it again. Plus, directions have been updated to this Friday's show at the Elk Grove Teen Center. This way you can make sure you get your butt out there!

Afternight |
6 May 2002 by JoE |
|
First off, we'd like to apologize to all the fans who came out to the show and paid $8 instead of $7. We had discussed it several times with Afternight, and the price was suppose to be $7, then all of the sudden that day they up-ed it $8 without even telling anybody, including us. Needless to say, we were very upset and so was everybody else. We'd also like to apologize for the delay in starting the show. We were set and ready to go by 6:45pm, but Afternight decided not to start the show until about 7:45pm. We just kinda got dicked around by Afternight, so we apologize to our fans and the other bands. But, once the show started, there was no stopping anybody. Awesome performances by all the bands that night and the crowd was just amazing. However, too many people left before Full Range played, and boy did you guys miss out. Pictures are up from the show, and check back for the FAQ section in the next couple days. Hope to see you guys this Friday at the Teen Center!

Dynamite Boy was
awesome! |
3 May 2002 by JoE |
|
Wow, what an awesome show! You know how most big bands have this big head about em, and "Oh we're on tour, we're too cool to hang out with you." Dynamite Boy was the complete opposite, just the coolest bunch of guys. Who knows, maybe we'll play with them next time they're in town. Also, we drove 3 1/2 hours to meet a band that lives no more than 20 minutes away from us. Who knew we were so close? Hopefully we'll be setting up some shows with Summer's End in the near future too. Pictures are already up from the show; plus, FAQ section launching early next week. Now to the immediate situation at hand. Tomorrow night at Afternight. Probably one of the coolest shows you'll see around this area until summer rolls around. You do not want to miss this awesome show featuring some of the areas best local bands. Don't believe me, then come on out and prove me wrong! Hope to see you guys out there.

PGS with Dynamite
Boy - This Wednesday |
29 April 2002 by JoE |
|
Alright, so I know I said i'd fill you in on the A-zone show later, but we'll let the pictures do all the talking. Even though we don't have any of us playing, but yeah. So, the big news, PGS has been added to the Dynamite Boy (on Fearless Records) show this Wednesday at Danville's newest venue the Roxity. We had a spur of the moment show last Saturday at the Roxity and it was really cool so we decided why not go back! The Roxity is only about 20 minutes south-east of U of I, so if you know anybody in that area, help us spread the word and make it down if you can. Check the shows page for all the info. Also, tons of new pics up from the A-Zone Experience, and our Roxity / U of I adventures. Live Pics, and Misc pics, so go check those out and if you're not making the drive to Danville, make sure to be at Afternight this Saturday for an amazing show.

We'll get to it
later |
22 April 2002 by JoE |
|
We'll get to the..."function" that was a show a little later this week since nothing goes with a story better than pictures, and we've got pictures! Just not yet. As for now, we're building up the PGS mailing list. If you're a little hesitant about joining because you don't want your e-mail inbox flooded with crap mail, don't worry. We rarely send out e-mail through the mailing list, but we are gonna try to keep everybody a little better informed through the mailing list not to mention finally starting to give away some free stuff available to mailing list members only! That's it for now. 26 April 2002 - * New Show Added - Tomorrow in Daneville, IL!

MOMS Week comes to
an end |
17 April 2002 by JoE |
|
Today is indeed the last day of MOMS (Musicians Organizing More Shows) Week, but that doesn't mean that any of us have to stop booking shows. Hopefully MOMS Week at least inspired you to get a hold of some of those people you haven't talked to in a while, and maybe even make some new contacts. We booked as many shows as we could, and we're still awaiting to hear back on 3 more shows. But, in our search for shows, we also came across a couple of really helpful guys. The first is Jeff at JK Promotions. You can reach him through the FDE Productions website, so if you're in a band, this is a great resource to have on your side and just let him know that PGS sent you. I'm actually serious on this one. Get a hold of him today and let him know who you are and your webpage and all that hoopla. Another person to get a hold of is Nelson. Nelson is head of Fellowship of the Punk, a network of independent chicago area punk bands and fans. Unlike other sites, Nelson is in a band and makes sure that everything gets done right. It's more of a resource site then a fan-based site. You can get booking help from lists of venues, or even ask other bands for advice in the forums. A great site overall. Check out the shows page to see what we accomplished during MOMS Week, and obviously keep checking back as "Booking Season" never comes to and end. Hope to see you guys this Friday out at the A-Zone for the New Fireside Committee show featuring, PGS, Swizzle Tree, Full Range, Fallout Boy, Tone Deaf George, and Starstruck.

ISU Party
|
15 April 2002 by JoE |
|
Thanks to everybody who made it out to the house party at ISU this weekend! I'm sure we're not the only ones who thought the floor was gonna bust when everybody was jumping, it all rocked. Even though we don't have any pictures of us playing, we've still got pictures. With three kegs on hand, you're bound to have pictures of something. So, check those out in the Misc section of the Pics page. Thanks to Kil Cupid for setting up that show, we had a great time and hope to do it again. Also, MOMS (Musicians Organizing More Shows) Week is still in full effect until this Wednesday, so keep booking shows like crazy. I know we are. Check the shows page for more info, and hope to see you guys out this Friday night at the A-zone. Later.

M.O.M.S. (Musicians
Organizing More Shows) |
10 April 2002 by JoE |
|
I am herby officially deeming today, until next Wednesday official MOMS' week. It's pretty much mid-april, the perfect time to start planning shows for the summer. Musician's Organizing More Shows (MOMS) week is a great time to get in contact with some of those other bands you haven't talked to in a while, and get something going over the summer. Keep an eye on our upcoming shows page as we are avid supporters of MOMS' week, and if you're in a band, make sure you post something up on your webpage about April 10 - 17th being MOMS' week so others know to get a hold of you for shows. See you at the concerts!

Interesting...to
say the least |
5 April 2002 by JoE |
|
The show went over well, I guess. We all had fun just jamming out. There was however one thing particularly disturbing and quite original. To see what i'm talking about, go check out the pics page. Or, if you were there, you probably already know. There was great music and a good time had by all. Hell, even CrazyF made an appearance! This Saturday we rock down south at ISU with Kil Cupid! Doesn't get much cooler. You don't need to head out to a party afterward because the whole damn show is a party. Plus, you get to meet up with old friends you haven't seen for a while. You know, those ones who actually decided to do something a little more financially stable like go to college and get an education so they can land good jobs that pay a lot of money. Also, a couple new shows added! We were going to plan a tour for this summer, but with conflicting work schedules, it's just not gonna happen (gotta pay the bills still). Instead we're booking dates in the surrounding midwest states and taking weekend adventures! So far, first on the list is Indiana! Watch for more to come. And in case you can't make it down to ISU, next weekend is the biggest show of the year down at the A-Zone sponsored by the New Fireside Committee. Definitely one that you don't want to miss. Anybody who is anybody is going to be at this show.
|
New show
added |
3 April 2002 by JoE |
|
We all know about the show this Friday night back out in Elk Grove at the Teen Center with Kil Cupid, Starstruck, and Miracle of Birth that is just going to rock because you never know who is gonna be jumping up in each others sets singing along and dancing like idiots. And i'm sure we also know about the house party down at ISU next weekend thanks to Kil Cupid. But, I bet you didn't know about the April 19th show at the A-Zone because it's just been added. It's being put on by the Save the Fireside committee and is featuring some of the biggest local bands in this area. To find out who you'll just have to check the shows page, and keep checking as more bands are announced.
|
Finally, we've
updated the site! |
1 April 2002 by JoE |
|
It's about damn time! But, there is a good explanation for this. You see, I went away for Spring Break and before I did, I thought I covered everything. I even gave Klug everything he would need to run the webpage. Well, as it turns out, the disk I gave him was bad so he wasn't able to do anything. Sorry about that. The Rockhouse USA show was really cool and everybody did a really sweet job. Everybody except for one person, oh yeah, the soundguy. So it sounded like crap, but the performances were good. And that place is cursed. 3 of the 4 bands busted a guitar string while playing that night, and had the last band been allowed to play longer than 15 minutes, they would have too. You know where to check out pics, I hope. We've updated the bios section by adding a picture of our roadie Spanky. He's been helping us on and off now for a few months, so we decided to finally put his pic up. Expect some new shows to be added soon, and hopefully stickers. Then, this Friday night we rock the Elk Grove Teen Center with Kil Cupid, Starstruck, and Miracle of Birth. This time we even decided to put up the right directions! Later.

You can Riley Rock
my USA House |
22 March 2002 by JoE |
|
If you're not going to the Riley's show Saturday night, you're a damn fool to put it plainly. And that's all I have to say about that. For those people who have never really heard us before, we decided to add some more mp3's to the site. Just go to the listen section to check em out. And just in case you don't feel comfortable (haha, get it, uncomfortable) listening to the songs through our site, or if they're giving you a problem, we even provided our MP3.com address to go to. Something else was updated too, but I can't remember what, so oh well, i'll let you know later. See you tomorrow. Just remembered what else was updated. We actually have an address now for the Elk Grove Teen Center thanks to Kil' Cupid for that. So you can pull of accurate directions now and get your ass to that show too.

Riley's Rockhouse
USA this Saturday |
20 March 2002 by JoE |
|
Perhaps one of the most promoted shows in a long time. If you got a flyer for this show, you definitely want to go. Even if you didn't get a flyer, you still want to go. First off you have an absolutely amazing line-up. Starstruck, PGS, Shooting Blanks, and 504 Plan. Second, it's at Riley's Rockhouse. Third, we've got T-shirts for sale. So don't sit back and say, "Oh I don't know if I want go," just go and you'll thank us later. In other news, we've added some new shows including our one and only Schiller Park Clock Tower Park concert for the summer. As always, check the shows page for more info about those shows. Plus, the Marengo show planned for late April has been cancelled. They changed the original date, and we couldn't make the new date. But, we might be back out in that area soon. You'll just have to wait and see. We're also adding a new section to the webpage
that should be up in the next couple weeks. Frequently Asked Questions.
So, if there's anything you'd want to know, either post it up on the message board, or send
us an e-mail to FAQs@pgsonline.net. The links page has also been
updated. Just look for the

It's Monday, what
do you want? |
18 March 2002 by JoE |
|
Turns out Dixon had a blast on his birthday seeing Hey Mercedes in concert and even hanging out with them afterward. Come see the old fogey this Saturday at Riley's Rockhouse USA in Aurora. We know it's a hike, but definitely worth it. Plus, this is the first all ages concert that T-shirts will be available. If you haven't picked one up yet, you'd better soon. These things are going like...well....like something that sells fast.
|
That's
right....it's DIXON's Birthday |
14 March 2002 by JoE |
|
Yup, Dixon is 21 today. You know what that means right? 1/2 of PGS can now legally play a bar. So, send him an e-mail, send him a card, let him know you love him even though he is really old now. We all know what happens when you get older. Old ________. Gross! *15 March - Pics up from show last weekend!

About damn
time... |
13 March 2002 by JoE |
|
Yeah so it's taken a little while to update, sorry about that. You see, Saturday is when I got really sick, then we played the show. I could barely talk, let alone sing, but the show had to go on. I mean hell, we were there already. So since then, i've been quarantined in my own room, thereby explaining the lack of updates to the site. Anyway, pictures from the show should be up by the end of this week. In the meantime, let me explain the ones above. Shooting Blanks had invited PGS out to dinner before the show. Well, for this show, PGS decided to bring Meagle along to help out with stuff. We decided to go to Pepe's downtown on Ashland. Joking around, JoE and Meagle suggested they should go up by where the guy performs, take over his equipment and bust out, "La Bamba." We did just that, and even got the whole restaurant into it.
|
New Pics!
|
8 March 2002 by JoE |
|
We've thrown up some new pics. As i'm sure we all know, this is a pretty messed up world we live in, we just decided to take pictures of some of the stuff. Not that these new pics should take away from you wanting to buy a T-shirt though. Just look at the T-shirt, doesn't it...pop. On more of a band related note, the 21 & Over show with drunk punks Shooting Blanks and 96.7 Will Rock competitors eGnaro is tomorrow night, downtown at the Gallery Cabaret. So, bring your Fake ID's and rock out all night long. "Then we hit the city, baby, dead on. For a little nitelife, a little drinks, then we'll come back throw a huge party, everybody's invited, and all these girls, they're just there..." - Weird Science

Rock
On! |
4 March 2002 by JoE |
|
It's times like this past weekend when you just couldn't ask for a better show. Alright, actually you could. It would've been better if there was a little less snow. Actually, a lot less snow. Those who braved the weather, we hope we delivered. We know the other bands did. Sideline and Kil Cupid really got the show going, and Domestic Play just keeps getting better. Everybody who left before Starstruck went on, man did you miss a great time. But you can catch Starstruck with us again on March 23rd at Riley's Rockhouse USA in Aurora, IL for a jam packed show. All those who made it out definitely made it worthwhile for us, and it seems as though everybody really likes our new song, "Part of Me." You guys keep coming to the shows and telling your friends, we'll keep writing more and more songs. This Saturday we rock Downtown Chicago! A 21 & Over show at The Gallery Cabaret with Egnaro and Shooting Blanks. Also, online ordering is now back up and better than ever. We'll keep you informed when new merch comes in since we're out of most stuff right now. We're adding another section onto the website! A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section. We already know a bunch that we have to answer, but we're wondering what you want to know, and what kind of questions you think other new fans would like answered if they went to the FAQ section. Let us know your questions by sending an e-mail to FAQ@pgsonline.net, or just post it up on the message board.

Ferret Rocking
Local Show Rockin Ferrets at Grand Bowl |
1 March 2002 by JoE |
|
Saturday night, March 2nd, Grand Bowl. Nobody knows what to expect, and you shouldn't when you've got the combination of bands that we do. But you definitely do not want to miss this show. Brand new songs by Kil Cupid, Domestic Play, and the new Sideline. Not to mention, a new Starstruck line-up. Well, while all the other bands are moving forward, we're gonna take a step backward. The original PGS had it's first show in the basement of Grand Bowl. Tomorrow night, we're going back to our roots and bringing out the Meagle. What's a Meagle? You'll just have to come to the show and find out, you won't be disappointed; but, I bet with the Meagle we've got an old cover in store for you. Doors at 7:30pm, and Sideline kicks off the evening at 8pm! We'll see you there for an awesome night and tons of free stuff.

New Shows Up! |
27 February 2002 by JoE |
|
The booking process is now underway! So far, two shows up in April, and more on their way for the upcoming months. Thanks to all the bands who sent in their info to us, we'll try and get you guys some shows pretty soon. In the meanwhile, did you know that there is a big huge awesome show this Saturday at Grand Bowl in Franklin Park? If not, get away from the computer, go outside for a little while and have somebody smack you over the back of the head with a shovel. This is gonna be the best time of your life and you're gonna let it fly right past you. 5 amazing bands in a crowded, smelly basement blasting your ear drums out with the coolest songs ever, and you don't even know about it? Well, if you didn't, you do now, and if you did, then you're already ready for an awesome show! Want to see us play a little closer to you? Let us know the venue by e-mailing us at bookings@pgsonline.net. See everybody on Saturday.

March 2nd Just got Cooler |
25 February 2002 by JoE |
|
As if March 2nd wasn't going to rock enough already, we've added Sideline to the line-up for the night. That now makes it 5 absolutely awesome local bands for only $5! It's kinda like Arby's, only without the Roast Beef. This is probably going to be the biggest local show since Shibby! so you know you don't want to miss out. Not only can you catch PGS' newest hit song, "Part of Me" but somewhere in the evening is going to be an acoustic performance of "Lemmy Go." Not to mention seizure-causing strobe lights, and video cameras! We're still looking for new bands to get to know, we've gotten a good response so far, but we're greedy and still want more. So if you haven't already, get us the following information about your favorite local band one way or another! All we really want is an e-mail to MyBand@pgsonline.net, with the following info: *a main contact person (name) - - - - *an e-mail address for that person - - - - *telephone number - - - - *webpage address - - - - *band name - - - - *what city/state the band mainly resides in - - - - *your band's style - - - - *anything else we should know

Another issue of what's going on... |
21 February 2002 by JoE |
|
March 2nd is going to rock! To put it plainly, it is going to be an awesome show. And what a great line-up. Domestic Play, Kil Cupid, PGS, and Starstruck. For those of you concerned, we did check with Starstruck, and they are still on for March 2nd. So this is definitely a show you do not want to miss. Not to mention an acoustic performance of "Lemmy Go" by PGS, and a brand new song from Kil Cupid. We haven't seen/rocked with Domestic Play in a while so we're looking forward to that reunion. So get out to Grand Bowl on March 2nd! In the next few weeks, we're gonna start booking more shows, and we're always looking for new bands to play with. Even if you're not our style, or even in this state, we'd still like to know who you are. Especially since we'll sometimes get calls from other bands who need somebody to play a show with them. So, we'd like to have as many bands on hand as possible.

Denny's can suck our (click
here) |
18 February 2002 by JoE |
|
First things first, PGS will be finding a new post-concert dining spot after our treatment at Denny's this past weekend. Bad service is bad service, and we all know Denny's is famous for that, but when they hold us there for a half-hour after trying to pay our bill claiming the coupons we had were stolen because they were in sequential order, that's enough. They then proceeded to copy down my social security number (which is illegal), we are currently looking for a new 24 hour place to eat after a show. Any suggestions e-mail us at PostConcertFood@pgsonline.net. Anyway, the feature of the week also highlights another experience from the weekend. As for the show itself, it was awesome. Because of the lights shining in our face, we couldn't tell how many people were really there, but however many there were definitely made it all worth it. Thanks to Kil Cupid for setting that up, and to Mindless Dream for playing it too, and all our new fans we picked up. It seems as though our new song, "Part of Me" was a hit since it received one of the largest crowd responses, so make sure to check that one out at an upcoming show. Also, in light of our demanding fans, our March 2nd show will feature the acoustic version of, "Lemmy Go" only here's the catch...we're going to do it at some point in the night, not necessarily in our set, so make sure you get there early. Pics are up from the show already, and we've added a new portion under our Misc section called Familiar Faces. It's simply pictures of our fans that posed for em. Also, illness spreads through the band as Klug has contracted the deadly Motaba Virus. Or, just the flu, but whatever. Later.
|
Cancel the show? Hell no! |
14 February 2002 by JoE |
|
First off, Happy Valentine's Day to everybody, and just because you're not seeing us today does not mean we won't accept Valentine's and expressions of love tomorrow! Anyway, let's see, as we all know the show with Kil Cupid and Mindless Dream is tomorrow night, and that show is so set to Rock. Let's do a little pop quiz. Out of the bands playing tomorrow night, which band's lead vocalist has been diagnosed with Strep Throat this morning. If you guessed Kil Cupid, you're wrong. If you guessed Mindless Dream, you're wrong again. If you guessed PGS, way to go. That's right, me, i'm the sick puppy, what a way to spend Valentine's day and the show is tomorrow night! But, the show must go on. So, the singing might not be the greatest (as if it ever is), but just bear with us. Also, we've got a few pics up from Back to the Office, more to come next week. *15 February - More Back to the Office pics up, more Misc pics up, and Bios section portions updated & a couple new bio pics.

PGS went Back to the Office |
11 February 2002 by JoE |
|
Sweet show to everybody. Whenever you get a bunch of really cool bands together and add beer, you're in for quite a treat, and we've got the pictures to prove it. They're just not up on the site yet. Gimmie a day or two. Sucks Epsin 12 couldn't be there, we were looking forward to hearing them play. Shooting Blanks did a great job, and the new guy Deech is just as cool as the rest of the guys. Let's just hope he didn't get pulled over last night on his drunken expedition home. Parr-5 is just cool as shit and did great, thanks for running sound too. I even got a new best friend out of the band. And the people that left after Parr-5, boy did you miss out. 4 Chord Max really rocked and i'd love to see these guys again in concert. And Sunspot absolutely blew the hell out of all of us and delivered an awesome show for those of us that were there. The drunken party after the show just really added to the night. Thanks to everybody that made it out. Now, how can I seduce you into coming out to the show this Friday night? What if I promised 9 cage dancing strippers? Alright, what if I just said we ordered 9 cage dancing strippers, and that they're going to cancel on us at the last minute? What if I just told you Kil Cupid and Mindless Dream are going to be there? Don't know who they are? Then go to their webpages and check them out before the show, duh. What if I promised an absolutely amazing PGS performance which includes a brand new song? I know it would get me there, of course, i'm going to be there anyway. Well you can definitely expect three awesome performances and a brand new amazing PGS song, so print off your directions and tell your friends, this Friday is going to rock. Oh yeah, our Street Team section is back up and running, better at that. So, if you feel like working for PGS and getting showered with PGS love and praise, then sign up. If you feel like taking a shower with PGS, contact, ShowerMe@pgsonline.net.

The PGS Quest... |
6 February 2002 by JoE |
|
So, over last weekend PGS decided to venture out in search of booty! After all, who doesn't search for booty. Well, we decided to share our story and adventure with those who inspired it. So, you can check out the PGS near death tale on none other than http://www.iheartbooty.com/. In other news, we're thinking about making some adjustments to the Street Team section. As of right now, registration for the Street Team and Ordering is down, but it will be back up in a day or two. For February 10 in Hoffman Estates, PGS goes on 2nd! But, like always, we suggest you get there 5pm exactly when the first band goes on because if you're paying $5 you may as well get as much for your money as possible. They do also have food there (but we wouldn't trust it) and $3 32-oz draft beers! And, finally I was able to retreive the Zip
Disk that had been stuck in my Zip drive for the past 2 months now. So, we
went through and put in some new pictures, actually their
old, but they're new to the site. You'll be able to tell where the new
pictures are at because you'll see this

Another show, another town |

Thanks to all our hardcore fans that made it out to the show over the weekend. You guys are awesome and we're even gonna get some new songs out to you pretty soon since you keep hearing the same stuff over and over again! As for all our new fans that we made, hopefully you're checking out the webpage and getting addicted. C'mon, flip through everything, snoop around! Hell, the pics are even already up. The show went really well, so a huge thanks to Chris and Matt for setting that whole thing up (the dude with the mohawk corrected me on this one because I thought it was just Chris that set it up, but who ever Matt is, we love you too man!). All the other bands there, you guys did a great job and hopefully we'll hook up with many of you come future shows. To Sideline, you guys are just awesome, and Denny's wouldn't be the same without you. And to Regina, our waitress at Denny's afterwards: If the menu says Free Refills, it doesn't mean, "Free Refills when you're available," it means Free Refills when we want em damnit! Also, to calm everybody's fears, Dixon is okay and walking normal again. You see, while we were unloading the van, a bag full of metal cymbals (weighing roughly 20 pounds) fell onto Dixon's foot. The worst part is that they didn't even fall flat, they fell on their side so this way they dug into his foot. We all thought we'd lost him, but his mama didn't raise no fool. Coming up...an awesome show at Back to the Office on February 10th. We're teaming back up with Shooting Blanks to deliver a powerhouse performance to rock the ferret in all of us. We'll see you then.

New Month, Cooler Shows |
1 February 2002 by JoE |
|
Sure it all happened last month, but Klug is still freaked out. And for everybody else who has been wondering, YES, it is true. Anyway, onto other things before I milk the cat. Three shows coming up this month with some really cool bands. T-shirts on the way (I know i've been saying that for the longest time, but they really will be here soon, hopefully in the next month. Not to mention some new really cool stickers. And I hope you all pay attention to the top of this page to know that there is a show tomorrow night. We'll see you there, right? As for the music, we're probably going back into the studio over Spring Break to lay down a better mixed 4 song EP. Plus, could glow-in-the-dark star shaped 7-inch vinyl records be in PGS' future? Guess you'll just have to stick around and see. The links page is always being updated, but we added some descriptions, so check that out for some of the coolest stuff around. Recently we've added a couple links up under Cool Fan Webpages, so go check out their pages because they've put a lot of work into pushing the local music scene through the web and on the street. That's it for now. Here kitty, kitty.

You freaked him out.../Juicebox B-day |
30 January 2002 by JoE |
|
Whoever decided to pay Klug's car a visit while he was at work Monday night, you freaked him out. Writing, "I want your body" in lipstick, and then putting "lip" marks on his windows, is enough to freak anybody out. Plus, do you know how hard it is to get that stuff off? Whatever happen to the good old days of just leaving him a Valentine or something (of which we will begin accepting come this Saturday's show, we prefer the Crocodile Hunter Valentines)? Alright, onto other news if you can ignore the picture of Klug above. January 31st is Juicebox's birthday! Click here to send him a card, or here just to send an e-mail. For any Blink fans, he's 3 years older than the age when nobody likes you! The show this Saturday is going to kick major ass (the donkey I don't have) so make sure you're out at that one. We haven't played with many of the other bands, but we hear that they're all really cool and good, plus who wants to miss a show that features PGS and Sideline? On the site, the pics section has been updated. It's pretty much complete, just needs a few more things. But, we really want to know if you like it this way or not, so let us know on the message board! And stop checking out my ass!

What's coming up... |
28 January 2002 by JoE |

Just the shows actually. Everything else is still in the works. So, check out the shows page, and get out to a show. Dropped our stuff off down at the Canopy Club on the U of I campus, so hopefully we'll have a show coming up down there soon. If there is a place near you that we should, e-mail us the info of the place at IWantPGSToPlayByMeNow@pgsonline.net. Also, we're making the pics section a little better too, so just hold in there with us for a couple of days.

Update |
25 January 2002 by JoE |
|
Here is what's going on right now. Shows, shows, and more shows. We've got three in February, and three coming up in March. There were a couple shows that were awaiting bands, and we've taken care of that problem, so check out who we're playing with. Also, the inclusion of a February 15th show in Elk Grove Village. This weekend, we're also gonna promote PGS at the U of I campus and try to get some shows out there, so if you're in that area, get ready, we'll be there sooner or later. Merchandise is going to explode in the next couple months. We're getting tons of stickers, pins, shirts (finally), and some really cool patches thanks to Chris or Danielle, one of them is going to take care of it for us. You'll definitely know when all that starts coming in though, we'll keep you informed for sure. No shows this weekend, but next weekend we're rockin in Villa Park with some really cool bands. We'll see you guys there.

Coming Up... |
23 January 2002 by JoE |
|
Alright, time for your debriefing! Whatever the hell that means. Anyway, a couple of little updates. Juicebox finally has a new bio, even though the rest of us had ours in last month, but we won't hold that against him. Along with that, we added some new bio pics for each of us. More importantly are the shows we have coming up. Feb 2 in Villa Park, Feb 10 in Hoffman Estates, Mar 2 back near home in Franklin Park, March 9 in Chicago, and March 23 in Aurora! Yet, this isn't enough for us, we're always craving more shows, so if you know of any places that have concerts let us know by sending an e-mail to bookings@pgsonline.net. But, you've also got to make sure you get your butt out to one of these shows especially since we're playing with some really cool bands! Let's see what else...we're still working on getting some new merchandise. Oh yeah, into the mix we're also getting patches thanks to a really cool kid named Chris! Thanks Chris. Pictures from Afternight should be up as soon as Reggie sends them to me, and thanks again to everyone who came out to that show and made our videotape look really cool. Also, it turns out we pulled in some new fans in the past couple weeks, and even more Street Team members. That's it for now.

Awesome! |
21 January 2002 by Klug |

Friday's show was fucking unbelievable. Julio Cuomo started the evening with an awesome acoustic set. Then Sideline came out and blew everyone away. Hell, even we got a few new fans. What really topped off the show, was Reggie's insane light show. It added so much to the show. So, yeah, we wanna thank all of them for playin, and we wanna thank Shannon for taking all the pictures from the show up on the site. Also, WE GOT ANOTHER SHOW!!! It's Feb. 2 in Villa Park. Check out the shows page for more details.

You Are Going to the Beatrice Show! |
17 January 2002 by JoE |
|
In fact, we're gonna make it real simple for you. (We're actually using this slogan for the show) "You go to the fundraising show at the church, or....YOU GO TO HELL!" It's going to be an amazing concert in an otherwise empty place, not to mention a two song acoustic set, one of which features members of both PGS and Sideline on a brand spankin new PGS song. And what the hell, huh? It's only $3. Just in case you decide that you can't make it out to this show though (in which case, may God have mercy on your soul), we have added quite a few other shows. Not to mention February 10 in Hoffman Estates with an awesome line up (check out the flyer) and also March 23 at Riley's Rockhouse with Shooting Blanks, Starstruck, and 504 Plan. Plus, other really cool shows in between. Check out the shows page for more info on those. While you're checking out pages, also check out some new pics up, you'll be able to tell which ones are new, don't worry. Also, PGS wants to thank everybody on our Street Team. We "can't believe" that the applications continue to pour in. We're gonna owe our success to each and everyone of you. We also want to say thanks to all our new fans who have only seen or heard us for the first time online, you guys better make it out to a show soon though! And speaking of the two song acoustic set for Friday, you can catch a bit of the PGS and Sideline song tonight on WRRG 88.9FM. The radio show starts at 9pm till about midnight, and somewhere around the middle PGS and Sideline will feature "Today." A song that is going to be performed for the first time in the Continental 48 States (it's a short story I don't feel like typing, tune in tonight if you wanna hear it). Well, i'm ending it there, we'll see you Friday!
| Awesome at Afternight / Why Go To Beatrice Friday? | 14 January 2002 by JoE |
|
Thank you to everyone who made it out to Afternight and made it an awesome show. Especially everyone in the crowd who participated in the show. I'm sure you all saw the look on the owner's face when everyone came up on stage, he didn't think the stage would hold us all up (it barely did, thank god for duct tape). Also, Kudos to CrazyF on an awesome performance! Not to mention all the other bands that played, meaning if you stayed for the whole show, you definitely got your $10 worth. Unfortunately we couldn't stick around for Back in the Day, so, my apologies about that. And, just to note Dixon is feeling better considering he played the whole show with 102 degree fever. Why the hell would you go see PGS again after you just saw them last week? Let's see, PGS has complete control over the Beatrice show in cooperation with the St. Beatrice Youth Group TMAD (Teens Making A Difference), Sideline, and Word on the Street. As many of you may have noticed from show to show (with the exception of Afternight), out lighting has become better and better all due to Reggie. Well, for this Friday, we agreed to let Reggie have some fun and go all out, a lighting show you don't want to miss. Especially with the new PGS projection screen, as Reggie puts it, "Dress to impress and bring your energy because there will be plenty of video cameras and pictures being taken of you (THE FANS!!!!!)." If that's not persuasion enough, how about the second live concert performance ever of PGS' acoustic album hit, "Lemmy Go." Or what about the teaming up of Sideline and PGS to bring you a brand new awesome acoustic hit. Trust me, you won't regret going, especially for the price! We'll see you there.
| The Cow has come home to roost! | 10 January 2002 by JoE |
|
And he's back in the game! After being off for over two months, CrazyF makes his return to the stage this Friday night! There are still a few tickets available for tomorrow night's videotaped performance at Afternight Soundstage TV Studio in case you have been weird enough to not purchase your tickets until now (contact one of us and we'll try and meet up with you tomorrow night before the performance). Also after about a month off for PGS, we're ready to officially start 2002 tomorrow night by rocking the new Afternight Studios like never before. To help us do that, we've included some (there's just so many) of the most amazing local acts around! This is going to be a great way to start off the year so make sure you're there! We'll see you Friday.
| Practice, Practice, Practice | 7 January 2002 by JoE |
|
That's all we've been doing recently. Working on some new stuff and refining our older stuff. Not to mention the fact that we can't wait to play this Friday night at Afternight. It's going to be an awesome show! So, if you haven't ordered your tickets yet, do so now. Or, if you have to meet up with one of us to buy tickets directly from us, contact us. Plus, PGS T-shirts coming real soon, not to mention new stickers. Also, recently discussed among the band, we might be going back into the studio mid-2002 to record a new better sounding promo. But, that idea is still in the works. Regardless, we'll see you guys Friday night! *8 January - September 8, 2001 & December 16, 2001 pics added
| New Year, New Things | 2 January 2002 by JoE |
|
Like most other people, PGS has set some of it's own resolutions. Bigger shows, better shows, and new songs are all in store for 2002. However, I took it upon myself to make my own resolution to the band. Last year I promised that by the end of 2001 we would be ten times better off than we were at the beginning. The band was quite skeptical but does agree that ten fold has been justified. Now, i've made my next improbable resolution. By the end of 2002 PGS will be signed. Maybe not to a major, but we will be signed to a label. 2002 is going to officially start on January 11, 2002 when PGS, Going Lefty, Shooting Blanks, Sideline, and Back in the Day bring new life to the Afternight Soundstage TV Studio. Order your tickets today, this is a show you don't want to miss being a part of. If you need to pick up tickets from any of the PGS members, just write us an e-mail to let us know and we'll try to meet up with you somewhere. Hope to see everybody there.
